Veneers
Custom porcelain shells for a beautiful, natural-looking smile
There's no reason to put up with gaps in your teeth or with teeth that are stained, discolored, badly shaped, chipped, or crooked. Today, a veneer placed on top of your teeth can correct nature's mistake or the results of an injury and help you have a beautiful, uniform smile.
What Are Veneers?
Veneers are thin, custom-made shells crafted of tooth-colored materials (such as porcelain) designed to cover the front side of your teeth. To prepare for veneers, your doctor will create a unique model of your teeth. This model is sent to the dental technician who creates your veneers. Your doctor will then gently prepare your teeth, placing the veneers on them to check fit and color. The veneers are then cemented into place.
Benefits of Porcelain Veneers
- Correct chips, cracks, and worn enamel
- Cover stubborn stains that whitening cannot address
- Close gaps between teeth
- Improve the appearance of slightly misaligned teeth
- Create a uniform, symmetrical smile
The Veneer Process
The veneer process typically requires two visits. During the first visit, Dr. Thietten will prepare your teeth and take impressions. Temporary veneers may be placed while your custom porcelain veneers are being crafted. At the second visit, your permanent veneers are carefully bonded to your teeth for a lasting, natural result.
